Spronk concludes that it is not necessary to assume a double heading in Nahum 1:1, for in this example the heading also combines a reference to the contents of the oracle with a reference to the way in which it was received, followed by the name of the writer. The nature of the two-part heading in Nahum, however, is more complex than Spronk has seen (see discussion in the following “Comment” section).
